Assembly of Governors Meeting - Sharm El Sheikh 2018

The Assembly of Governors of the Association of African Central Banks (AACB) held its 41st Ordinary Meeting on 9 August 2018 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, at the International Congress Center. The meeting was atttended by thirty-five (35) Member Central Banks and the African Union Commission (AUC) participated in the meeting. The Banque de la République de Haïti participated in the meeting as an observer.

About Us

The idea of an Association of African Central Banks was first introduced on May 25, 1963, at the Summit Conference of African Heads of State and Government held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In this regard, African Heads of State and Government unanimously agreed to set up a preparatory Economic Committee to study a large range of monetary and financial issues, in collaboration with Governments and in consultation with the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).
