The BRVM launches SMS market news service in Ivory Coast

This initiative is intended to promote the spread of equity culture in the region.

The BRVM - the West African Economic and Monetary Union's (WAEMU's) financial market - has partnered with mobile operator MTN to launch a market news service via SMS.

Entitled "Info BRVM", this service is available in Côte d'Ivoire since Tuesday, May 12th for subscribers to MTN and Orange subscribers as of Friday, May 15th. This initiative is intended to promote the spread of equity culture among the populations of the WAEMU, the BVRM said in a press release.

The service includes the daily broadcast of a market summary, along with the periodic broadcast of news such as dividend payments or capital increases and an educational component that will include the basic concepts of the market.
