The 2024 AACB Continental Seminar on the theme: ‘‘Enhancing Payment Systems to Promote Financial Inclusion in Africa and Intra-African Trade: Challenges and Opportunities” will be hosted by the Banco de Moçambique on June 3 -5, 2024 at Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre, in Maputo, Mozambique.

Briefing note

Accommodation: All delegates must contact hotels directly to arrange, confirm and guarantee their bookings.
There is a variety of hotels available in Maputo City, with different price levels and amenities. Some of the hotels recommended by Banco de Moçambique
include breakfast and Wi-Fi.

Airport Transfers: Banco de Moçambique will provide transport for participants from Maputo International Airport to their accommodation and vice versa. For this purpose, delegations are requested to provide information on their travel itinerary in advance.

Transportation: Banco de Moçambique will provide transport for participants from the place of accommodation to the venue and vice versa.

Weather: The average temperature in Maputo City during the month of June varies between a minimum of 15 ºC and a maximum of 23 ºC.

About Us

The idea of an Association of African Central Banks was first introduced on May 25, 1963, at the Summit Conference of African Heads of State and Government held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In this regard, African Heads of State and Government unanimously agreed to set up a preparatory Economic Committee to study a large range of monetary and financial issues, in collaboration with Governments and in consultation with the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).
